Thank goodness for Dads :)

A year ago last month, our family was involved in a car/deer accident. Unfortunately the deer and the car did not survive. But that's not the point here. My dad came in the middle of night to get our family and bring us home safely. That meant the world to me.

Well, today, I called him and asked him to do his yearly deed again. But this time was not truamatic at all, thankfully. It was a minor fender bender and he came and picked up the girls. Mom (MIL) and I stayed behind to speak with the police officer.

It meant a lot to me to have my dad whisk my girls home, safely.

Thanks dad.

And, also, thanks to our good friend Rob, who stopped by twice to check on us. That also means very much to me and our family.

Happy thanksgiving.

I'm hungry, hungry, hungry. . .

I don't know how many of you do this on the holiday week. It's time to go grocery shopping in our house. But I don't want to nor do I have room in the fridge for our regular groceries. The kids have cleaned me out of crackers. Troy ate the rest of the animal crackers. I'm saving the apples for the stuffing. . . I guess I could have an english muffin (raisins in it). I plan on going Friday to the grocery store. Sandy brought me a gallon of milk and OJ. I think we can wait.

Speaking of english muffins with raisins. I asked Lilly if she wanted to try one this morning. She said, Raisins? Sure. She thought I had a box of them in the cupboard. No, I want them in my hand, she replied.

I made the kids hot cocoa before Grandma arrived. Anna came up to me a few minutes after I finished themaking last child's hot cocoa. She said she needed some marshmellows. I told her I put some in her cup. No, I want to eat them right now.

I'm heading to bed, skipping the snack. I'm telling myself it is too late to eat. Let's hope my brain is listening.

Thanks for stopping by.

Digital Cameras

I have a love/hate relationship with my digital camera. With very little effort, I have 436 photos again. I haven't finished cropping and fixing the last set of photos I downloaded. This is crazy.

I've been researching the Cooper side of our family tree. This is where our youngest gets his name. I have started making time one or two hour blocks at a time to do research. I've really missed it. But I miss my polymer clay also. There isn't enough time for anyone to do everything they want. I remind myself of that every day. Some days are better than others.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving. We have lots of family coming over. I've put off the carpet cleaning and chair cleaning until the last moment. With our three little ones, who knows how long the furniture and carpet will stay clean.

Brandan is coming over. I can't wait to see him. Troy and Brandan are going to Ford Field for their second annual trip to see the Michigan High School playoff games. They are going to have a lot of fun.

Grocery shopping and attempting to potty train

I took the kids yesterday to the local fresh market. Cooper was very interested in helping me out. I only had to purchase the green pepper he tried to eat :)

The girls have new beds. Cooper received his first hand me down from his sisters - one of their toddler beds. It feels great having the crib out of his room.

Today I was gathering the linens from the girls old beds to give to a neighbor. Cooper decided to try to use the bathroom. I had poop all over the floor in front of the toilet. Thankfully Troy replaced the carpet in there a few years ago. That would have been a disaster. I kept telling myself, be positive with the praise, Jenn. When I really wanted to say - boy, what were you thinking? He seems pretty interested in learning the ways of potty training. Troy and I are constantly catching Cooper without a diaper. I'm surprised the potty disaster this morning hasn't occurred sooner.

Troy is at Brandan's play off game. This is the game last year the boys lost. I'm hoping this time, we will win.

See you in the morning.

Jenn
